As a stills photographer and teacher who incorporated filmmaking into his practice, Sil enjoys sharing about his journey. This is not unique in the history of photography and film, as many of the great directors were also photographers. He draws from his experience as an editorial photographer and documentary filmmaker to open a world of possibilities before his audiences.

Sil enjoys traveling with a purpose: personal growth. In 2016, he took a 360º trip around the globe on a journey of self-discovery and learning. The resulting photographs were featured in an Exhibition and limited edition coffee table book. He later wrote a memoir from the trip, which is currently in editing, with publication expected for the Fall of 2026. Sil enjoys sharing some of the lessons he learned from his travels, combining culture, geography and history in a warm style that is engaging and inspiring.

The study of photography offers a fascinating door into world affairs from the past two centuries. Sil combines the images and stories of several masters of photography, from Dorothea Lange to Sebastião Salgado and many others, to take his audience on a trip in time and space focused on what it means to be human in our world.

Sil’s reverence for filmmaking comes through in his introduction and live discussions of select feature and inspiring documentary films.

World peace is a passion of Sil’s. He has been working tirelessly on his feature documentary I am For Peace, currently in production and scheduled for release in the fall of 2026. Sil has met some incredible people around the world who are making are effecting change through positive action.
